Coming out of Quarantine - A Mindfulness Based LGBTQ+ Process Group

The past year has held a great deal for all of us. There has been grief, resilience, and adjustment. As we transition out of this "new normal," we may be feeling uncertain, anxious, or overwhelmed.

For 8 weeks (July -August) you can join a group of queer peers to develop mindfulness skills and hold space to connect and process the past year. The evidence based field of mindfulness provides a powerful antidote and support in navigating uncertainty and stress.

Participants (age 18+) will be provided in-depth mindfulness skill training from certified mindfulness informed clinician and therapist, Elliot Huemann. The group time will include shared mindfulness practice/training and group process time focused on topics related to the experience of the past year and moving intentionally into the next chapter. After a season of great isolation, group therapy can provide an incredibly powerful and supportive environment for healing and growth.

The group sessions will be loosely structured as following:

  • Gathering/Questions - 5-10 minutes

  • Mindfulness training/practice - 10-15 minutes

  • Mindfulness discussion - 15-20 minutes

  • Quick Break - 2 minutes

  • Introduction to process topic - 3 minutes

  • Group Process time - 20-40 minutes

  • Closing/Questions - 5 minutes

This group will be held over Google Meet and will require access to reliable internet and computer. The group will consist of (8) 80 minute sessions held on Tuesdays from July 6th to August 24th. Each session costs $40, for a total of $320 paid in advance of the first session (payment plans available).

If you have interest in joining this group please email elliot@elliothuemann.com for next steps/screening for group fit. This group will be intentionally small and is first come, first serve, so if you have interest reach out!
